Shirley brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked as a senior bid manager

at BT, handling multi-million pound public sector tenders. Her current employer, TEDCO,

won the contract to provide the Procurement Centre with a business development expert.

Shirley will be able to draw on her experience as a Bids and Special Projects Manager at

TEDCO as she takes on this latest post.

“I am really looking forward to drawing on my experience of managing bids and proposals to     support and help local businesses. The Procurement Centre is an exciting project which

is having a positive impact on business in south east Northumberland and I’m delighted

  to be on board.”

What the business community is saying about us.......

It’s great to know that someone is there and can point you in the right direction.  It’s an excellent service which has given me confidence.  The workshops have been great – in fact, the day after the ‘Writing Proposals’ event, I was asked to write one which resulted in me winning a pilot ‘E to E’ project – thank you very much!  Gillian Derrick, G and P Training

“Thank you for the encouragement you gave me to pull a proposal together”  Louise Doyle, Bright Blue Management Consultancy

“Northumberland Council is way ahead with what they offer and The Procurement Centre has been fantastic.  There are so many things we wouldn’t have been aware of had it not been for you.”  Paul Blakey, Newland Media Limited

“Before it was difficult to know where to go to find out about contracts as there is so much information but the website and the events have really boosted my confidence - I think it's an excellent service.” Colin Somerville, Seacon Environment Limited

“Without a shadow of a doubt the service has been fantastic.  Great to know I can just pick up the phone and you're there.  I now feel it's easier to tender for things as you have simplified things for me.  We have since tendered for Housing Association contracts and feel much more confident than before.” John Bayfield, Branderman Hygiene Limited

I used the go-tenders website to help me put together a PQQ for a contract.  I feel much more confident about tendering.  I wouldn’t have known about e-tendering, had The Procurement Centre not contacted me – thank you very much."  Jason Wright, Express Cleaning.
