We offer a friendly, hands-on service to businesses, social enterprises and community and voluntary groups in South East Northumberland who would like to win business from the public sector both locally and nationallly. We also encourage people who buy goods or services for local authorities, regeneration agencies, schools, colleges, health services, trusts and private businesses to spend their money locally. A recent study found that for every £1 spent in Wansbeck there is an additional value of £1.66 if that money circulates locally. Effectively it becomes £2.66 and the idea is that by still buying goods and services at the right price and quality but considering local suppliers, our local economy can become stronger and people living here can become wealthier. We can offer the following services to businesses, social enterprises, community and voluntary organisations: An email alert system (using a direct link in to TenderTap) to let you know of larger forthcoming contracts A system called ‘Opportunities Publisher’ which you can browse for quotation opportunities from local organisations. Linking opportunities that we spot and that we believe may be of interest to businesses, social enterprises and community and voluntary organisations that we identify from the Wansbeck Business Forum Directory (so make sure your company is listed!) and Yell.com, etc. Hands on help (by emails, visits or by telephone) with understanding the processes that the public sector operates. Help with completing documentation for specific tenders that you may have spotted or that we have seen and thought you might be interested in. Workshops on specific contracts where you can meet the buyer and chat generally about the opportunity. Specific training courses aimed at de-mystifying the process. Signposting to other business support agencies and services if required. We can offer the following services to procurers in the public sector: Guidance and advice on shaping tenders to help strengthen the local economy. Organisation and delivery of workshops around your opportunity. This can be either to enable you to become better informed about your marketplace or to explain your opportunity more fully to those who are likely to bid for the work. Promotion of the ideas around strengthening local economies through presentations to staff within your organisation using tools from a variety of sources.
